Week 32 – Holiday Habits

The Holidays are quickly coming upon us, what will be on your TV?

1. Any holiday favorites you can’t live without?

I used to not be able to go by without seeing The Sound of Music which seemed to always air around the holidays. Also, I loved watching The Miracle on 34th Street, but have fallen out of practice of catching either. Maybe this year I’ll at least make it a point to watch the DVD of Sound of Music. Interestingly enough, I’ve never seen It’s A Wonderful Life.

2. Holiday viewing: Parades or Football?

Most definitely football, but until the game starts, I do like to take in the Macy’s parade.

3. What’s your favorite holiday TV memory?

One that stands out pretty good is while driving around one year looking at Christmas lights with Monica, we got lost over in the Shore Acres area of St. Pete, FL (we’ll see how that URL holds up). As desperate as I was, I actually got out of the car at one point to see if I could orient myself by finding the north star. That didn’t really work. But we did make it out alive, but nowhere near where I thought we were.

~Bonus~ Holiday remakes, are you a faithful fan of the old classics or do you prefer the newer versions?

I wouldn’t consider myself a faithful fan of the classics, unless we’re talking about the favorites noted above. I’m up for remakes, but would reserve judgement until I see them. Lame answer, yeah, but it’s still early. Gimme a break.

  1. You should do a list of your favorite Christmas songs or albums and compare and contrast why you like, say one version of a song sung, say, a capella better than another version of the same song sung by a country singer. I mean, if you had time to do such a thing. :)

  2. I might be able to do this when I’m putting together my Christmas Favorites playlist on my iPod. Good idea.
